Under Armour officially unveiled their Winter lineup of Basketball sneakers last night at an exclusive and intimate event in New York City’s SoHo section. The event served as both the full unveiling of the UA Basketball product line for the Winter of 2011/2012 and the official unveiling of UA’s upcoming advertising campaign entitled “Are You From Here?”. The event brought out much of UA’s Basketball team and UA’s Basketball athletes including Greivis Vasquez, Derrick Williams, Kemba Walker, and Brandon Jennings. Both the UA product team and the athletes intermingled with the media and guests on hand making for a very natural and light atmosphere whereby everyone was accessible to chop it up over Under Armour and the product.
From a product standpoint, UA brought out 10+ colorways of their upcoming Bloodline, Brandon Jennings’s sneaker, as well as different flavors of the Micro G Juke, which Kemba and Greivis will be rocking, and the Micro G Supersonic, which Derrick Williams will be rocking. Much of the product at the event showed off UA’s desire to tailor make their footwear for their athletes by telling stories through their footwear. For example, Greivis Vazquez has his own Venezuela National Team flavor of the Juke, Kemba has his own “Bronx” flavor of the Juke, Derrick Williams has his own low top version of the Supersonic, and Brandon has something around 15 different flavors of the Bloodline that tell a bunch of stories including his love for Roscoe’s, his upbringing, his time in Roma, and much more.
I will have much more on the products coming soon but for now, check out some pics from the event after the jump.
