Though LeBron James is now an NBA veteran with countless records, All-Star appearances, and a couple of years of post-season experience, at still only 23 years old, he is a kid at heart. To pay tribute to his actual childhood, Nike is set to release two Quickstrike Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier IIs in GS sizes for the young player that LBJ once was. The first QS Zoom LeBron Soldier II is set to release today, 7/8, and is a tribute to the Summer Lake Hornets team that LeBron played at the age of 8 in 1992. The “Summer Lake Hornets” Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II, pictured above, features a Black/Purple/Teal colorway inspired by the SL Hornets.
The second GS Nike Zoom LeBron Solder II QS is set to release on 8/8/08 and is a tribute to the Dream Team that played in 1992, when LeBron was 8 and playing with the SL Hornets, and won the Gold medal. The story behind the “Dream Team” Nike LeBron Soldeir II GS is that a young LBJ was himself inspired by perhaps the greatest squad ever assembled.
Both releases will be available at NikeTown NY, NikeTown SF, and NikeTown Chicago.
