As we’ve seen already through the Nike Zoom Kobe VII release date list, the Nike Zoom Kobe VII is a three tiered retail story with Basic, Supreme, and Elite versions. Now, we have a good look at the difference between the basic and the supreme versions. The Black/Grey Nike Zoom Kobe VII Basic features a Black/White/Grey colorway with the tongue and footwrap wrapped around the footbed. The footbed itself features Zoom embedded into the heel and the forefoot and reads “Play Fast”. The Black/Del Sol version features a longer footwrap that turns into a full blown ankle wrap. The footbed does not feature the exposed Zoom bag in the heel nor any reference to Zoom at all. The footbed does read “Play Strong” so the assumption here is that the footbed features Max Air in it. The thing is, since the whole footwrap/footbed piece is not attached to the sneaker, it is essentially interchangeable, which means, the wearer could conceivably place any footbed in any Zoom Kobe VII sneaker. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nike sold at least the Elite level sneaker with both footbed options. Time will tell.
Take a look for yourself after the jump and stay tuned for much more info.
