Nike Designs Sneaker Specifically for Native Americans the Nike Air Native N7

Nike Air Native N7

Though many of us tend to focus on the fashion and aesthetic of Sneakers, sneakers were, of course, originally intended to support a healthy athletic lifestyle. With this in mind, Nike recently unveiled their Nike Air Native N7, a performance sneaker built to the specifications of the Native American foot that is designed to "promote fitness fitness in a population with high obesity rates". After surveying over 200 Native Americans from over 70 tribes, Nike designers discovered that Native Americans have a wider and taller foot than the the average width of a Nike sneaker, thus, the Native N7 was designed to be wider and more supportive of the Native American foot. According to Nike, all of the profits from the sales of the Nike Native N7 will be "reinvested in health programs for tribal lands, where problems with obesity, diabetes and related conditions are near epidemic levels in some tribes".
