Yesterday, April 15th, marked the 62nd anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball. In honor of Robinson’s heroic and historic feat, each player in the League wore Robinson’s number 42 on the field yesterday, and, the Mets officially unveiled/dedicated their Jackie Robinson rotunda at CitiField. To honor the event through a footwear piece, Nike is set to release their own commemorative Jackie Robinson pack of Nike Blazer His.
The Jackie Robinson pack features three colorways of the Nike Blazer Hi. The Red colorway features a Red nubuck upper with a repeating Brooklyn Dodger “B” logo surrounded by diamonds throughout the upper and “Brooklyn” in script on the tongue. The Blue colorway features a Blue nubuck upper with a repeating Brooklyn Dodger “B” logo surround by diamonds and the script “Brooklyn” on the tongue. And, the Grey colorway features a Grey vintage canvas and leather upper with the “Brooklyn” script on the tongue.
