Later this month, New Balance is set to release their 574 Clips Collection. The New Balance 574 Clips Collection features 480 total pairs, 120 per color, of New Balance 574s that were each constructed from left-over clippings of materials used to make the New Balance 993 and New Balance 996.
The New Balance 574 Clips collection extends itself beyond the physical sneaker and onto the Internet on 574Clips.com 574Clips.com features 480 video clips of the shoes’ unique construction experience.
In addition to the 480 short films, New Balance also placed a Polaroid photo of the sneaker inside the box. The back of each Polaroid features the sneakers stats (size, #, etc). Consumers can then visit the 574 Clips website and search for the video created specifically for their shoe. Once the consumer has found their “clip”, they can watch the short video featuring their pair. After the video is finished playing, the Polaroid will flip over and the owner has the option to “claim” their shoe by entering a unique 5 digit code and their name. Once clips are claimed, they can still be viewed, but the owner’s name will be shown at the end of the short.
The New Balance 574 Clips Collection will be available in four colorways: grey/blue, grey/green, grey/orange and grey/burgundy. Retail is set at $75.00 at ten top U.S. retailers including Reed Space in NYC, Shoe Gallery in Miami, Bodega in Boston, Commonwealth in DC, Premium Goods in Houston, St. Alfreds in Chicago, Burn Rubber in Royal Oak, Sole Boutique in San Antonio, Goods in Seattle, and Undefeated in LA.
