Michael Jordan Sports Illustrated Cover White Red Air Jordan XII

With the [White/Red Air Jordan Retro XIIs] finally set to return, we are flashing back to 1997 today. The ’96/’97 Chicago Bulls were one of greatest teams to ever play in the NBA going 69-13 in the regular season their way to repeating as NBA Champions. The team was so good that Sports Illustrated wondered if their success was bad for the NBA.

In a classic SI cover, a larger than life Michael Jordan hovers over miniature versions of Patrick Ewing, Shaquille Oneal, Grant Hill, Charles Barkley, teasing them with a Basketball that they can’t reach. On this cover, MJ is rocking the White/Red Air Jordan XIIs.

does anyone know who the last guy is? the one not in the air? i don't recognize him...

      • Brandon

Uh, it's Gary Payton dude lol

  • disr

i still have that grant hill jersey.cool

  • crooxden

I think that last guy must be Mitch Richmond.

    • Nutty

I was thinking the same thing but Mitch wore #3, right? Timmy wore #10 but why would G.S. be in that list??? I know they had some good players, but they never really were in contention with the Bulls.

I thought Indiana and Dale Davis, but I don't remember his number (think it's in the 30s) and why would Davis be the one out of the Pacers lineup. If anything, it would be Reggie and that is who should have been in that picture.

Btw, it if wasn't for Scottie, there would be no 6 Rings for Mike cuz Mark Jackson was eating that @ss up. Scottie shut all that down with Phil Jackson's switch and it was game over.
