Though New York has, over time, grown accustomed to Sports domination, prior to the New York Giants winning Super Bowl 42, NYC was in the midst of sports wide championship drought. Not since the New York Yankees defeated the New York Mets in 2000 had NYC stood atop of the world in any sport.
Enter the underdog “Stomp’em Out” New York Giants. Their Cinderella run to become the World Champions revitalized this championship starved city.
Continuing the celebration that began with NYC’s ticker tape parade, Nike/NIKEiD recently teamed up with Defensive Ends Justin Tuck and Pro-Bowler Michael Strahan with a great cause in mind. Both Tuck and Strahan, assisted by designer extraordinarie DJ Clark Kent, were invited to the NIKEiD Studio at NikeTown NYC to design NikeTown New York Exclusive sneakers that will go to benefit the Let Me Play Foundation. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of their upcoming creations will go to help the Let Me Play Foundation build Basketball Courts around the country.
KATC was on hand while DJ Clark Kent, Justin Tuck and Michael Strahan got together to make magic.
This Part 1, of a multi-part feature, serves as a pictorial taste of much more to come with Justin Tuck, and of course, Michael Strahan. Stay tuned.
