Associated Press -- Dwyane Wade has officially left Converse and joined the Jordan Brand. Announced this morning, Wade has ended his relationship with Converse, a subsidiary of Nike, to join his idol's brand which is also a subsidiary of Nike. According to Wade, "I didn't want to be in the Converse brand anymore because it seemed like they didn't know what to do with me. I want to go global. It's something I feel like I have to do. I want to continue to build my brand". The power and scope of the Jumpman will undoubtedly give Wade the opporunity for even greater exposure in the overall market but especially within the footwear market. Wade has been trying for several years to transfer to the Jordan Brand saying that it was a dream of his, "I grew up on the south side of Chicago idolizing Michael Jordan and have worked hard to achieve the same success that he's had on the court," Wade said. "I have enormous respect for this brand."
The upcoming Converse WADE 5 will more than likely be cancelled and Wade will being to wear Jordan Brand footwear and apparel immediately. Though the Jordan Brand roster has taken shots in the past for not featuring many superstars, Wade joins a team that already features Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Ray Allen. Converse on the other hand, looses it's main endorser and a huge footprint in the Basketball category that it once dominated.

HOLY OMG
I literally jumped offa my couch when I read this.
All is good in Wade County!
It's about time, now I hope JB makes his 1st shoe a good damn one..!
Converse sucks, maybe Wade can revitalize the Jordan Brand. I mean honestly, Fusions, the AJ 2k9 are nothing to get excited about.
That's sweet that JB got Wade......as long as he doesnt bring his ugly designs with him. Converse wades are horrible
GR8 News. Now i like D-wade even more.
I hope this works out for Wade..but I dont know. He says Converse didn't what to do with him but last time I checked there wasn't CP commercials out there or Carmelo commercials. DWAde will now just be One of Many "endorsers" with JB
good move, but Jordan Brand hasn't exactly been designing the freshest sh#t recently either. Jordan '09s were straight booty...
first off bout damn time..converse sux! that being said the cp3 iii and the new melo look terrible so jumpman better give wade a great shoe! do not love the bron and kobe for this year either from first looks so i hope wade gets a sick shoe...how about the air flash!!!
finally, his shoes really sucked..lets hope Jordan gives him justice
WOW! Hope JB comes out with something fresh.
well hopefully jordan won't misuse his stature and make a GREAT shoe for him to wear.so lets not get overly excited.
im glad but i dont think i a lot of these players shouldve gotten their own shoe
nice.......JB, hope you guys design shoes that wouldn't be nothing like the styling cues of Melo and CP. M4 and the latest CP3 are straight fugly.....then again, all the editions of them are fugly anyways.
This pretty much means Bulls colorways. I'm glad Wade jumped ship because he wasnt getting the deserved love from Converse. I just wished it wasnt so overload on Nike-affiliated shoes. It's nice to get variety.
Anyway, congrats to DWade. I'm looking forward to a great JB year!!!!
now those will be sick kicks i cant wait for them
WOOOOO ANTICIPATION!!
the only news that would be bigger than this is if he make any ugly a** kicks like he did in the pass
They'll still b wac like the Melos, CPs, etc.
It's true. I worked on the set of his new Nike commercial last week.
