After a disappointing year on the NBA court, Dwyane Wade reasserted himself in Beijing as one of the premier players in the world. His 3-point bucket in the gold-medal game versus Spain with time dwindling in the fourth sealed the deal on the Redeem Team's gold medal.

Following up D-Wade's performance in Beijing and going into the 2008-09 season, Converse is set to release Wade's fourth signature sneaker, the Wade 4. Coincidently inspired by the 4th quarter, the Wade 4 features a number of design cues that symbolize Wade's thought process during crunch time.

For DWade's run at the Olympics, WADE 4 designer Duane Lawrence created a special "United We Rise" version of the WADE 4. The "UWR" WADE 4 features a White leather upper, a UWR reflective trim, a Navy Patent tongue, and Red accents.

We will continue to roll out the details on the Converse WADE 4 as the NBA Season nears.

I'd say: GREAT SHOE! In this colorway is a must. I like the height and the profile. Reminiscent of the old glorious days...

In my opinion, these are better than the 3's, however, these still lag a bit in comparison to the competition.

Shoot, if I were Dwayne, I'd bail, and jump the Nike bandwagon. Those things are beyond ugly!

  4. The Standard aka The Footwork King says:

he might as well switch over; everyone else has done it, kevin garnette, chris bosh, tim duncan, shaquille oneal, kobe bryant, chris webber, and many more

this is a TIGHT DESIGN!!! sya what you want but for a Converse T-shoe super duper tight!!! I cop? when are they droppin???

  6. Rick Kang says:

Not trying to hate on Converse, but these are pretty weak. Reminiscent of the adidas signature Antoine Walker's from backintheday with those sweeping lines across the sides --- and the 'toine's are nicer!

As Nike owns Converse, I don't think Wade'll switching brands soon. They want to put Converse back on the map --- but without designers like Tinker, Cooper or Avar, easier said than done.

And of all the ballers mentioned who've "switched over", Garnett, Duncan and Webber actually left the Swoosh (with crappy-looking shoes to show for it). And none of those cats mentioned aside from Kobe can sell shooz anyhow...

  7. Nomasiac says:

How about some shots of the soles? & I agree with the above comment (Rick Kang) Garnet & Duncan are with adidas and to be honest, Adidas have had better designs in the last couple years IMO!!
