KATC Feature: Nike Air Max LeBron VII EKIN University Event

KATC Feature Nike Air Max LeBron VII EKIN University Event

The Nike Air Max LeBron VII is officially set to release tomorrow morning. Earlier this week though, teams from NikeTown NY, Foot Locker 34th Street, Foot Locker Times Square, and the House of Hoops NY all participated in the Nike Air Max LeBron VII EKIN University Basketball Tournament. The Nike Air Max LeBron VII EKIN University Tournament gave all of the players/sales associates in the tournament the opportunity to learn about the Air Max LeBron VII, and, the chance to perform drills and run full court before anyone else. New York EKIN, Will Eberhart conducted the Air Max LeBron VII EKIN University event, going through the intricate technological and aesthetic details of the Air Max LeBron VII. Eberhart's lecture and the fullcourt run ensured that all of the players/associates would be more than prepared to properly speak on the Nike Air Max LeBron VII to anyone that came in to their stores looking for a pair on launch day, and beyond.

LeBron More Than a Game Tour Event Recap | Part II Event Video

As I mentioned in [Part 1 of the More Than a Game NYC Event Event Recap], the true highlight of the tour stop was the More Than a Game panel. Hosted by Kenny Smith, the panel featured Coach Dru Joyce (SVSM coach), Sian Cotton (SVSM teammate), Willy McGee (SVSM), Kristopher Belman (MTAG Director/Writer), and LeBron James himself. During the panel discussion, LeBron and crew discuss the movie and their High School years at SVSM. LeBron also goes on to discuss his relationship with Jay-Z, his pro career, and his 2010 free agency.

LeBron James More Than a Game Tour NYC | Event Recap Part 1

More Than a Game NYC Event Recap

The LeBron James More Than a Game Tour officially invaded New York City yesterday, literally taking over Pier 36 on the South St. Seaport. The Tour attracted hundreds of LeBron fans to the area for an entire day of events and activities. The event featured an outdoor section and an indoor section.

The More Than a Game NYC outdoor section hosted a more relaxed atmosphere with a larger tent that served free food throughout the day, several food vendors, a VitaminWater stand that was giving away free VitaminWater all day, and an outdoor Basketball court that featured pick up games throughout the day. The indoor event housed the larger event and a LeBron/Basketball fans dream.

The More Than a Game NYC outdoor section played host to several stations including the Nike/LeBron heritage installation, an EA Sports gaming section fitted with NBA Live 2010, a NIKEiD station, a Nike Retail store, all of the More Than a Game Artist Series Nike Air Max LeBron VIIs, a Ballers Network indoor court, Scratch Academy DJ lessons, a shoe shining/sneaker whitening section, a Barbershop section for free cuts, a 5 on 5 full court game between NYC's top AAU programs, a huge stage with onstage guests that included Fat Man Scoop, Angie Martinez, and DJ Webstar. The venue was comfortably packed with people trying out everything.

The real highlight of the show featured Kenny Smith hosting a panel discussion on the upcoming More Than a Game Film that featured Sian Cotton, Willie McGhee, Coach Dru Joyce, and of course LeBron James (more on this in Part II of the recap).

Shout outs: The Nike Basketball Family and Will Perkins from Nike Basketball East for bringing a tremendous event to NYC.

Stay tuned for Part II.
