Air Jordan Retro XII (12) Rising Sun Officially Delayed
Oct 20, 2009 | Comments 17 |

Though this might be a dead point for some, the Rising Sun Air Jordan Retro XII has been delayed. The Rising Sun Air Jordan Retro XII was initially scheduled to release this Saturday, Oct. 24th, but according to an email sent out to Jordan Brand retailers, that date has been delayed for a later point and time. Spots have been selling the Rising Suns for a while now so this is more for spots that actually follow release dates.

why are rising suns being delayed?
I wonder if something is defective in the shoes.
Honestly, these should be a Spring '10 release. That just makes more sense ... if they call about the bottom dollar line.
Delayed? I thought they were out already. I saw one shop in Woodside, Queens that were selling them.
this is some BULL **** smh i had my bread right 2
bull **** thats not true i call my local stores in North carolina and they are set to release saturday
Its very officail, I was sent an email and told not to release the shoe, and I have heard that it may be the rising sun insole, but who knows at this point.....
The shoe has been officially Delayed because there is a picture of a chinese star on the rising sun insole and China is trying to sue Nike for that....The official shoe chould drop this saturday when Nike sends in new soles...
This is very true. Just got off of a conference call with my bosses and they have told us to pull the shoe. Because of the Rising Sun symbol on the insole inside the shoe, it has been delayed. There have been some kind of protests of some sort that insole has a political meaning. It is very possible that different insoles may be sent to stores to replace the original ones.(Just a rumor right now)
However, if you can get your hands on a pair of these before any kind of change is made you will have a collectors item. You heard it from SneakerDude first.
I got mine today...i hope what sneaker dude said is true.....YEAH!!!!
it is true about the insoles. my boss told me the exact same thing i work for footlocker and they told us to they might send in some insoles or they might recall the shoe
The insoles with the inspired Japanese War Flag design from World War II is the exact main reason why I want to cop them!
They better not change that part. I know my vote doesn't count at all but still.
Flight Club NY has them already BTW
Just like the above comments stated they were delayed because of the insole. Some people were lucky enough 2 purchase the shoe with the insoles. I saw one store in BKLYN that was selling the shoes but they were taking out the insoles stating that they had to send them back to nike.
They are being delayed because from 23isback.com "We heard that the reason for the delay is because of the "Rising Sun" symbol on the insole and its political meaning. Apparently, some people were offended by it and protested so the Jordan company will most likely have to remove all of the insoles and make new ones before they release the shoe." Whole atricle under release dates on 23isback.com
i bought them last nite
b4 they came out
i have the rising sun insole
they too nicee
UPDATE:
Jumpman23.com has them for a November 21, 2009 release.
There is an e-mail going out to certain retailers who already have the AJ12's in stock (but not allowed to sell). The e-mail says the vendor (presumably Nike) will be sending to stores REPLACEMENT insoles (with the Japanese WWII rising sun jordan logo) and product card in the box which says the design was inspired by the Japanese rising late 19th cent / early 20th cent imperial flag. The original rising sun insoles and product info cards are to be returned to vendor.
The WWII rising sun flag has offended many groups. And the shoes are made in China (who suffered greatly from the imperial japanese during WWII). Just think how we'd feel if Jordan put out a shoe with a Nazi swastika and said the inspiration came from Hitler?
