During the 1997 Finals against the Utah Jazz, Michael Jordan was overcome with Flu-like symptoms. Despite his illness, he calmly went out and willed his team to a 90-87 win in a game that many will say, considering his condition, was the best that he ever played.
To play homage to Michael Jordan's performance in the "Flu Game", Jordan Brand is set to release the "Flu Game" Air Jordan Retro XII. A twist of the classic Black/Red Air Jordan XII that he wore during that game, the "Flu Game" Air Jordan Retro XII features a Black nubuck upper sitting on a Red midsole/sole with Red accents. In a nod to the "Flu Game", to tongue and the outer heel feature graphics of a sick face and "97" "38" for the year and the amount of points MJ dropped that night.

not a huge xii fan to be honest...as a longtime collector i am disappointed with the switch but what can you do...def pass for me!!! one less shoe i have to worry about!
The nubuck and the red accents on the tongue kinda throw it off. Still a great shoe to ball in though

Im not feeling the sick face, 97, 38 on the heal but the rest of the shoe is great. I'll be getting 2 pairs. I don't think the nubuck will work on the Varsity Red -White though, hopefully those will be an OG Retro.

Not really a fan of the bred XII. I think the nubuck is okay. Really no better or worse in my opinion. The smiley face is childish to me. Being older it changes my mind about wearing. But nonetheless it's decent.
looks like JB recycled some materials off the black/univ blue "nubucks" that came out a lil bit ago and didnt sell as well as expected. these got fusion written all over em. step ya game up another disappointment from JB.

Am I the only person here that likes the nubuck? The nubuck looks better than that cheesy leather they had before. While i do not like the smiley face its an okay shoe.

No you're not. I like them a lot. Just don't like the face, 97, & 38. When I first saw the sick face and the numbers I thought it was somebody labeling their photo or something.
I second that by saying I like nubuck also.....IMO, the material keeps its shape better than leather and retains its original look for a longer period of time.
I really like the concept. The nubuck is better to me. I already have the OG's. Why would someone want the same old shoe? Nubuck is much better material IMO. The sick face is really cool!

As for the shoes, I had the OGs but it seems these are more for collecting than casual wear. The sick face emoticon is quite juvenile. I'm honestly disappointed in these since I thought the Nubuck change was enough.

Look I'm a big time fan of all the ogs and I hate all fusions an all recent activies from jb but u guys critisize jb for getting creative wit a classic cuz I have og bred 12s and seeing the same exact pair release 3 times within 12 years would devalue my pair..jb just tryin to keep fresh ideas alive cuz they can't just keep releasing the same retros over an over again

Y'all are funny --- I don't even like 12s, but to think that the 97/Sickface/38 even matters is mad finicky. If this sort of twist on an OG I actually like wuz done, I'd be down (i.e., full-grain leather Black/Grey IV instead of suede). These look well done to me for a lesser Jordan (7s,8s,10s,14s, etc.)...
