There is a good chance that if you were wishing for a retro of the Powder Blue Air Jordan IX, which has been turned into the [University Blue Air Jordan Fusion 9], you have also been wishing for a retro of the Charcoal Air Jordan IX as well. With no Charcoal IX in sight, the Charcoal AJF9 will get you as close as possible for now. Unlike many of the fusions before it, the Fusion 9 is basically the Air Jordan IX sitting on the Nike Air Force 1 sole unit. The entire upper and most of the midsole is almost a dead on replication of the Air Jordan IX. The Charcoal Air Jordan Fusion 9 features a Charcoal upper, the OG Air Jordan IX's glittery trim, and Red accents. The upper sits on a Black midsole and Charcoal outsole.
The Charcoal Air Jordan Fusion 9 is set to release in May.

Yo I keep telling y'all. This is marketing research. Check it, they're trying to test the waters on the sale, so they test it on the fusions to get market response. If its strong they're gonna release them in the retro version in a year or two. It makes sense, the recession is hurting sales, retro's aren;t selling what they used to, so they need to make sure they invest in the right retro.
I'll wait for the retro of the XI.

I got the OGs of this shoe. Love the color, hate the fact that it is an AJF9. If anything, i would rather have it as a Retro. I do love the 9s. One of my favs.
think about it. They released the jordan 9.5 then a year or so later they released the 9 in the same white/black colorway in the CDP. They released the fusion 12's in the taxi then they released the 12 taxis in the CDP. They could have released those shoes in any colorway but they chose the same one's they tested in a previous color. I guarantee, watch a year or two you will see the retro 9's either in powder blue or in the charcoal. On a side note, I would wait for the retros too

I'm not a fusions guy but these are straight I can't see myself buying them. Hopefully the 9's will drop again in these colorways at some point in my lifetime.
Orlando, your "theory" of the Fusion before Retro release is bogus and not true at all.
FIRST OFF -- They retroed the IX FAR BEFORE it was even thought to do a "Fusion." The CDP IX wasn't released after the Fusion "purposely." In fact, if I'm correct, the first ones retroed back in 2000-2001 (maybe '02, not sure)
