Way back when the Air Jordan VIII first released, Nike released the Nike Air Raid an outdoor specific performance Basketball sneaker. The Air Raid’s resemblance to the Air Jordan VIII earned it the nickname the “Outdoor” Air Jordan VIII. Seventeen years later, Jordan Brand is taking the outdoor motif into their own hands by releasing the Outdoor Air Jordan 2010. The Outdoor Air Jordan 2010 is an outdoor specific version of the Air Jordan 2010 that features several of the design characteristics of the Air Jordan 2010 and coincidentally, the Air Jordan VIII.
The Air Jordan 2010 features the same lines and overall look and feel of the Air Jordan 2010 with added reinforcement at the toe and the heel. The most striking differences between the Air Jordan 2010 and the Outdoor Air Jordan 2010 are the lack of the AJ2010’s “window” and the AJVIII-like cross straps which read “Outdoor” and “Jordan”. The Outdoor Air Jordan 2010 also features several large holes on the upper for breathability on those hot days playing on the blacktop.
The Air Jordan 2010 is scheduled to release later this Summer.
