Air Jordan Retro VIII Countdown Package New Pics

New pics of the Air Jordan Retro VIII from the upcoming Air Jordan 8/15 Countdown Pack recently hit Net. Following the trend of several of the CDPs that have already released, the Air Jordan 8/15 Countdown Pack will feature a retro+ colorway and an OG colorway. The OG colorway will be the "White/Red" Air Jordan Retro VIII. Last retroed in 2003, the classic "White/Red" Air Jordan Retro VIII, nicknamed the "Bugs Bunny's" around New York, will receive the CDP treatment, which means, most of the overall shape and color will remain the same, but, there will be couple of alterations that separate it from the OG and the initial retro. With this Air Jordan VIII CDP realease, unlike many of the other Jordans that still have colorways that have never retroed, the entire range of the OG Air Jordan VIII will be retroed in only the past two years.

The Air Jordan 8 is definitely a classic, there's no arguing that. I can pick out details that I like on this one all day but when they're put together the overall design seems too busy. When I think of an Air Jordan, I think of a clean, uncluttered design with one or two design elements that make it pop. This one is the opposite of that. I'll pass on this pack...
GIGGS says:
this looks like the boots I see in Chinatown. Totally disappointed. Countdown packs are another good concept that was delivered poorly.
Packs should've been 3 shoes adding up to 23 and colorways should've stretched past red and black.
nwdrift says:
Disagree with Giggs, there are a lot of people now not buying some of these packs because you're forced to buy 2 pairs, 3 pairs would not work at all.
What they should have done is mix the colorways up a little bit, the whole countdown pack looks boring and the same now. Imagine if the iv's that came out were the white/cements... or if the xi's that will come out are space jams or white/carolinas... or if the iii's that come out are the true blues...
I understand their concept of keeping the black/red/white colors, but after a few releases, it's getting boring.

these look damn close to the og and the retro in 2003..i would cop if had the opportunity..but 310 just for the viii is def not worth it to me personally!!! the grey looks a bit darker but overall not bad. prob my fav viii of all colorways to be honest!
bxmiafury says:
@giggs: What are you saying in your post? How do these look like Chinatown boots? If they put 3 pairs in a pack we will be paying $465 or do you think it would stay at $310? When is the last time you paid $103.33 for a numbered Jordan other than the retro 1's?
AirJedi says:
nice but the xv are wack so i would buy this alone on flightclub!!!!
GIGGS says:
thats what I was saying. If you do 3 pairs that add up to 23 your gonna get a lot of low numbers.
V, VII, XI Pack...I think people could pony up 450 for 3 classics. But the main point I was making is colorways. How many red and black shoes can you buy in one year.

FRESH DIRECT says:

MAYBE TO A "REGULAR EYE"!REMEMBER WHEN THESE CAME OUT "CROSS COLORS" WAS POPPIN!!TOO MANY BLK/&RED RETROS?C'MON..THAT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE FASTEST SELLING COLORWAY!!EVEN THE BLK/&RED 23'S "CATCH EM IF U CAN"!!..LOL
mike says:
these are classiq u should all know that but the 15s are ugly
nwdrift says:
re: giggs
yes, a lot of people are probably willing to pay 450 for the v, vii, xi.. but how many combinations can you really have? there will be some jordans that won't get released which takes away the whole countdown concept...
it would just turn into another dmp disaster..
GIGGS says:
nwdrift...
III, VIII, XII
IV, VI, XIII
V, VII, XI
just a few...I dont know what the agenda of the company is. Maybe they are conscious to no re-release too many classics with the fear of bastardizing them. Maybe they really just wanna hook young buyers into spending more money by buying two shoes when they only want one. All I know is most of the CDP's were an easy pass for me.
I'd rather by Fusion V's then most of these packs...lol
rich says:
wow giggs, thats kinda low ballin it. fusions ova packs? nah bro, but i will say this that u are right about the whole thing of packs. the bordem is hitting me and i realize that there not worth it. the jordans i really look forward to arent even in any packs, and mo of these i already got. im sticking to retroed nike am95s 90s, etc...
bxmiafury says:
@Giggs: You have to remember what they are doing with the CDP...They decided not to retro a bunch of J's in one year this year, with the exception on the 1's and the Olympic 6's. Three shoes in one pack leads to fewer releases and less money for them...They are releasing a package every month this year, except in February because of the Jordan 23.
