KATC Feature: Air Jordan XX3 Part III A Close Look at the Black Red Stealth Air Jordan XX3

After the releasing the limited ["Titanium Blue" Air Jordan XX3] and the [limited (not as limited as the "TBs") "All-Star" Air Jordan XX3], Jordan Brand will release the first General Release Air Jordan XX3, the Black/Red/Stealth Air Jordan XX3. The Black/Red/Stealth or "Stealth" Air Jordan XX3 is the first out of the initial release trio to be completely designed by Tinker Hatfield. The first two releases feature an outer stitching pattern designed by Mark Smith.
The Argyle MJ stitching on the outer of the "Stealth" XX3 is inspired by Michael Jordan's luxurious taste. According to Tinker, while accompanying Michael on a trip through the shopping meccas of Europe (Milan, Paris, London, etc.), Michael consistently purchased the most exquisite goods. From a pair of handcrafted dress shoes, to a handcrafted cigar box, to the handcrafted leather interior of his newly purchased Ferrari, MJ sought for only the best. Based on this trip with Michael, Tinker felt the need to infuse this feeling of luxury into the Air Jordan XX3. The Argyle MJ pattern is a representation of passing this feeling of luxury onto the consumer.
In addition to the Argyle MJ pattern, the luxury of the Air Jordan XX3 is retained through the shape of the outsole of Air Jordan XX3 which is inspired by the shape normally found on high end dress shoes. For the first time ever, Nike/Jordan Brand utilized an air bladder pressing method that molds the outsole into a more foot conforming shape. The curvature of the outsole, along with the carbon fiber midsole plate, provides for a more comfortable yet stable experience.
Beyond the upper stitching and the outsole, the "Stealth" Air Jordan XX3 features a Black Nubuck upper with Red and White contrast stitching.
The "Stealth" Air Jordan XX3 is officially set to release on 2/23/2008 for a retail of $185

Mr. MZAGRO says:
i have to really say hands down this is the best colorway in this shoe but.......... still not the best looking. Why you may ask? lets face it really the shoe has to much going on, it is way to busy. might as well be the spizike 2.thats just my opinion. i know opinions are like as****** everyone has one and this was mine. BIG UPS to my TRUE SOLDIERS THE LAWS CREW. keep writing! Grafitti is ART not a crime. decorating whole blocks in the name of hip-hop just to have something to look at when the music stops. old Graf never dies it fades away. peace 1-love and Jah Bless!!!

John W. says:
I've been a JB hater ever since the XXIs...Every pair prior to the XXIs were looked good IMO...The XXIs seemed like a wasted roman numeral to me, the XX2s had potential but JB screwed it up with price and color coordination along with lack of simplicity being one of my major gripes...This pair (the XX3), from total cosmetic point of view actually have plenty of upside, the sneaker works well with the JB mainstay colorways, what will probably be the most man-power ever focused on creating a sneaker that any of us will ever witness in our natural lives, and most importantly, it benefits from a unique design (not the good ol' JB staple of basically taping a bunch of previous models together and giving them names like Spiz'ike, XX, and .5)
All that being said, the sneaker just doesn't click as a whole sum of all the parts...The fin on the back looks forced, cheap, and out of place, as does the tongue...The signature print on the toe looks decent but IMO it seems like a focal point to detract from the fact that the shoe as a whole just is so "Air Jordan" worthy...The XX3, from a design standpoint, is dare I say, Team Jordanesqe, by that I mean very bland and seemingly uninspired or unmotivated, no of the preceeding could have been said for ANY Air Jordan from I to XX...The look of the XX3 doesn't bring goosebumps to my arm as just a glance at the College Blue XVII, the Grape V, or any IX release would...It just isn't a great Jordan along the lines of anything from I to XX...I can never be misconstrued as being a Jordan purist who only gives thought to products with corresponding roman numerals lower than XV, no I love each and every Jordan from I to XX, some more than others definetly, but I love them all and own a pair of each...I simply haven't felt the need to spend any of my money on any of the Air Jordans released after the XX, these are no different...
This leads me to my final gripe, THE PRICE...JB, lemme talk to ya, NOBODY, and when I say nobody, I mean NO-body, other than the average 11 year old fan boy, will keep purchasing Jordans at $185, or $230...The last 4 Jordan models have sold miserably and have been given new homes on sales racks at every Nike Outlet from here to Turkmenistan...So before you address any of the design flaws, address the most gaping flaw, which just happens to be the PRICE...

For the comment above, Engrish Please! That was almost as confusing as the stitching pattern on the bloody shoes. As for the XXIII's, I'm over it already. Put those in the closet next to the Ben Wallace's.
jordanhaed7792onNT says:
those are the best XX3 to release(beside the titanium blue) so far amost cop
kenny says:
there ok??? but for a whooping $185/$230 that's just crazy!!! not worth it PERIOD!!!
Devilb0y says:

Mr. MZAGRO says:
p.s. edward wears reeboks and sucks
ebaby says:
They look like the converse wade kinda
Frsh Prince says:
Hey in responce to some of the comments here and else where(yall know). I think the design is great personaly but some ppl say that this j and a few others(particularly 21 and 22 and this) are not "air jordan" and what they are meaning is that its not a shock/eye opener/and extreme/a hard risk. If ya didnt know the aj1 was the biggest risk and shock in the bball shoe industry for a time(it was a $100, it was red and black and it got fined for a period of time and it was anew consept)the shoe was different and jordans have been different in providing to the consumer things like patent leather on a bball shoe, clear soles, elephant print and lasered patterns. These are the highs ppl got off jordans back in the day, and thats what jordans are suppose to do give you a nice refreshing high - lol. Some pll today dont feel their getting that and thats why they object the later aj's. HEY AND FOR ALL YALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE NOTHING IS MORE "AIR JORDAN" THAN THE PRICE, THE FIRST AJ WAS $100 AND AT THAT TIME THAT WAS LIKE PAYING $30 FOR A LOAF A BREAD TO BBALL SHOES,THE PRICE HELPED SPREAD THE AJ FRENZY. Imagin "Did you hear bout those shoes that cost a hundred bucks." ... ""Yeah Man they expensive" "but they fresh and they look differnt from all the other kicks out" "Hey I think am gona get a pair + i think they ake you jump higher did you see the commercial with MJ" The conversation above started talking about the price so the price thing aint new and ain gona change accept it.
I sympathize for the old jordan fans and heads but i really likethe XX3's and am gona cop a pair sooner or later.
sneakerfreak says:

big J biggy says:
Didn't really care too much for the XX3's till I took a look in-person. Nice shoe, lightwieght, cant wait to get them on the court. I hope everyone hates on these, then i'll grab another pair when the price drops....keep on hatin'!
jay says:
i am sold..held them in person.super light...looks super comfy...may actually ball in these..got a flightposite look to em..lighter materials though!
big playa says:
i'm gonna try and get the all star edition ones tonight. I'm lovin the stealth color and they are awesome. My only complaint (which is very small) is that the black section down the middle is made of that material that always looks dusty. The all star ones have what looks like a gloss finish, which is a little cleaner looking. Other than that, im lovin the argyle
teewil says:
These Jordans are hott!!!!!!!! I have always been a fan of the black/red jordans. I am gonna get these and I am gonna call it quits. I have done this for 10 years and its time to go. All yall dudes who dont like the XX3 are just haters to me. In person these are hot! This is not your ordinary Jordan shoe. Wait til the white/red come out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
