After several successful Marc Jacobs x Vans series', Vans is set to collaborate with another critically acclaimed and widely popular High End Fashion designer, Paul Smith. As part of this series, Paul Smith is set to lend is trademark syncopated stripe pattern to several Vans styles including, the Vans sk8 Hi. The "Paul Smith" Vans sk8 His feature a solid Suede Sepia upper with Smith's stripes on the inner lining. In addition to the sk8 His, the Paul Smith x Vans collaboration will bring with it a pair of Chukkas, Slip-Ons, and more.
 
The Paul Smith x Vans Collection is set to release in 2008.

In addition to releasing the ["Phoenix Away" Nike Air Force 1 Low CB Basic], Nike is set to release the "Phoenix Home" Nike Air Force 1 Low. Like the "Phoenix Away", the "Phoenix Home" AF1s pay tribute to Sir Charles' three amazing years playing for the Phoenix Suns. The "Phoenix Home" Nike Air Force 1 Low CB features a 3/4 split colorway with a predominantly Stealth base and an Orange gradient heel. The "Phoenix Homes" also feature an Orange Swoosh with Grey contrast stitching, an orange toebox, a Grey midsole with Orange contrast stitching, and a light Grey outsole.
 
The "Phoenix Home" Nike Air Force 1 Low is set to release on 12/8.

On December 8th, Nike is set to continue following the career of Sir Charles Barkley through their tribute to his days as a Phoenix Sun. While playing in Phoenix, Barkley averaged a double double with 20+ points a game, 10+ rebounds, and 4+ assists. He was selected to the All-Star team all three years he was in Phoenix, averaged nearly 50% from the field, and was selected the NBA MVP in his first year playing for the Suns. He lead the Suns into the play-offs each year only to loose to the Bulls, the Rockets, and the Spurs. Though he continued to post stellar numbers year after year, injuries finally began to take their toll, ultimately limiting Sir Charles from perhaps posting even better numbers.
 
Though his career as a Phoenix Sun was short, lasting only 3 years, it was memorable. Not only did Barkley play amazing Basketball, his partnership with Nike produced some of the most memorable sneakers of all time, and, brought about the controversial "I'm Not a Role Model" campaign.
 
Putting all of this together, Nike is set to release several Phoenix Suns inspired Nike Air Force 1s, including, the "Phoenix" Nike Air Force 1 Low CB. The "Phoenix" AF1 features a predominantly Black Nubuck upper, a Purple Swoosh with Orange contrast stitching, a Purple ankle, a Black midsole with Orange contrast stitching, and a Purple outsole.
 
The "Phoenix" Nike Air Force 1 Low CB, along with several other Phoenix inspired Nike Air Force 1s, is officially set to release on 12/8 for a retail of $80.

Though the Nike Air Max 97 is no stranger to 3M, with its trademark 3M piping, it is one of the few Nike styles that has not received a more extensive 3M treatment. This has apparently changed. New pics of sample completely 3M reflective Nike Air Max 97s recently hit the Net. Taking the 3M normally found on the piping a step further, these "Medicom" Dunk like Nike Air Max 97s feature a Metallic Silver upper that reflects when exposed to light. In addition to the 3M upper, the "3M" 97 features non-traditional flat laces (as opposed to the normal round running laces), a leather interior, and a translucent sole.
 
As of now, the "3M" Nike Air Max 97s have appeared only as size 9 samples and have hit select Nike outlets. It is rare to see a sneaker pop up at an outlet before it hits retail. This usually occurs when a sneaker has been scrapped. Since true 3M reflective material is hard to work with, this may be the case, but time will tell. We will continue to track this release.
 
*UPDATE* The 3M Nike Air Max 97s are available in Europe (a hotbed for the AM97) and were created for the 10 year anniversary of the Air Max 97.

Continuing their "Music" Series, Nike SB is set to release the "Joe Strummer Before" and "Joe Strummer After" Nike SB Dunk Lows as a tribute to the Clash frontman's guitar transformations. The "Joe Strummer Before" Nike SB Dunk Lows feature a Black/Brown/White colorway that is inspired by the original three colored "Sunburst" finish on his Fender Telecaster that he bought in 1975. After buying the tele, Strummer painted over the Sunburst finish with Black and Grey automobile paint. Over time, his Black and Grey finish deteriorated to re-expose the original Sunburst finish underneath. The "Joe Strummer Before" Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release in December.
 
In addition to the "Joe Strummer Before" Dunks, Nike is set to release the "Embarco" Nike SB Dunk Low Mid in tribute to San Francisco's legendary Embarcadero/Justin Herman Smith Plaza, the home of many a historical Skateboarding moment. Though Nike has designed/released several Hybrid styles, beginning with the "One Time Only" Pack, the Air Max 90 has become the base model of choice. Beginning with the 90/360 to the Nike Air Max 90 Boot, the classic Air Max 90 silhouette has been at the forefront of Nike's Hybrid push. In addition to next year's [B Huarache hybrid], Nike is set to return the Nike Air Max 90 to its running roots with the Nike Air Max 90+. The Nike Air Max 90+ features the overall shape of the Air Max 90 and the classic AM90 design elements, fused with a Nike Presto-like completely mesh toebox and a Free foresole. As of now, the Nike Air Max 90+ is set to release in two colorways, "Black/Lime" (pictured above) and the legendary "Infrared".
