A Closer Look at the Nike Air Force STAT Amare Stoudemire

STATPrev.jpg

After four years of amazing play, Amare Stoudemire has finally receieved his own signature Nike sneaker, the Nike Air Force STAT. The design of the Nike Air Force STAT, Amare's nickname which stands for Stand Tall and Talented, is a throwback to the early days of the Charles Barkley line of Force Max kix that incorporates decades of technological advancement. The STATs feature a pearlized leather seamless upper, a dual strapping system (instep and forefoot), full length Max Air, and a quilted lining. To add Amare's character to the STAT, Amare and Nike included several personal characteristics onto the STAT including an embossed 610.245 (Amare's Height/Weight) inscription above the Max Unit and the an embroidered "Still I Rise" on the inner tongue.

Also, a little known Nike fact, the STATS feature 5 metal dots on the heel of the sneaker. These five Dots symbolize Nike's achievement in designing/creating a sneaker to perfect specifications on the first try. The 5 Dots are also present on the Nike Air Max 360.

The Nike Air Force STATs are available now at a retail price of $130

Look like the old school Nike Muscle Max with the double strap, they just combined it cuz its about the same size as both of those straps put together. And the bubble on the Muscle went around the back.

    air philippines says:

from what i remember in other articles i've read, the five dots represents a shoe that's an alpha project: a shoe that nike designed/created to perfect specifications on the first try.

i'm pretty sure the designer who took on the name of "alpha project" on some shoe sites/forums, borrowed it from the alpha project of nike.

anyway, imho, i think these look clean--a bit heavy-looking though... but then maybe they wanted a shoe that looks tough enough for banging in the paint with the big boys... a shoe for a big man like amare.

    Feets Malone says:

WOW!! Some harsh critics...these joints are hot! Let's not forget the shoe is designed to the specs of the PLAYER. Amare is 6'10" 245 pounds. He would not be comfortable in a Zoom Drive type shoe. The Air Sole is Max air and to protect the outsole wraps up over it. The shoe is actually pretty light and the upper is seamless with a moisture wicking interior. Aestetically this shoe is hot. Techincally the shoe is perfect for a big dude hard on his shoes who's looking for maximum comfort fresh off a knee injury!!!

You have to take everything into consideration...

    Jville says:

Im w/ Feets Malone, Amare must prefer performance ova style no doubt. Afta all, dats what really gets da job done right? But I prefer 70% style & 30% performance. But dats just me. But they do look like somethin Neil Armstrong woulda wore on da moon.
