Nike officially rung in the 25th Anniversary of the Air Force 1 last night, Dec. 10th, with a gigantic extravaganza at Gotham Hall in NYC. Entitled the "One Night Only Celebration", the event brought out a long list of celebrities including Spike Lee, Busta Rhymes, Styles P, Jadakiss, Eddy Curry, Nate Robinson, Quentin Richardson, Paul Pierce, Rasheed Wallace, Bobbito Garcia, Bun B, DJ Clue, DJ Clark Kent, Bobby Jones, Grand Master Caz, Mario, Ciarra, and many, many more. In addition to the celebrites, several important figures in sneaker culture attended the event as well including Stash, Futura, jeffstaple, Hiroshi Fujiwara, Haze, Dave Ortiz, Mr. Cartoon, Sandy Boedecker, Bruce Kilgore (AF1 Original Designer), Mark Parker (Nike CEO) and again, many others. As the Air Force 1 made history when it was first introduced 25 years ago, Nike again made history last night, only this time, through music. KRS-One, Nas, Rakim, and Kanye West all hit the large Nike AF1 stage together to perform in honor of the timeless sneaker.
